Bloomerang purchased Kindful in 2021. It is a fundraising platform that is more focused on donor management versus memberships. MembershipWorks is a better choice for those that are looking for an all-in-one membership software for nonprofits.
Why MembershipWorks is Better than Boomerang
- Cheaper pricing. MembershipWorks offers its lowest-priced paid plan at $35/month while Bloomerang starts at $119 plus an $35 extra for phone support. While prices appear competitive at higher account levels (based upon number of contacts), MembershipWorks does not charge for secondary contacts on the same membership while Bloomerang charges individually for each contact. In other words, a family membership is counted as only one account with MembershipWorks, but that’s not the case with Kindful.
- More membership-related features. Organizations with members such as associations, chambers of commerce, networking groups, clubs and cooperatives will find many more features that suit their needs with MembershipWorks. For example, Bloomerang does not offer:
- Event calendars
- Member directories
- Members only content
- Classified ads
- Job boards
- Announcement boards
- Built-in shopping cart
- Free phone support and live screen share training – Bloomerang offers help videos, but doesn’t offer free phone support or free, live screen share training for the life of the account. Phone support is an extra $35/month with Bloomerang.
